Date: Sat, 12 Feb 2000 20:12:40 -0800 (PST) From: GEEK College Bowl Subject: QB: RESULTS: NW SCT Results The first Northwest NAQT SCT was held today (2/11/00) on the Campus of the University of Washington in Seattle. U of Montana was expected to attend but do to an accident traveling they were unable to make it (all team members were unharmed). Left with only a 4 team field we opted for a quadruple round robin followd by the top two teams in a best two of three final. In the end the Washington A team defeated Whitman College in a thrilling 3 game final with Washington winning the first game 260-140, Whitman came back to win the second game in a tight 300-290 game, and Washington eeked out the final game 255-250. Washington A was awarded the Overall championship and Whitman was awarded the Undergraduate Championship. Michael Ailion of Washington A won the individual scoring title averaging 71.67 points per game. this tournement would not have been possible with out the help of our volunteers; Bruce Lin and Peter McCorquodale traveled some distance to moderate. And Washington's Keith Ganey and Ryan "9:30=Noon" Kyle sacrificed playing to keep score.
